    1. Discipline (Mike Neal)

181101 Anita Renton (West Midlands Police) is suspended for 6 games and fined £20 as from 4.1.09. Rule 4d refers.

    1. Secretary (Andy Millington)

  • Despite sending out the fixtures each month which includes a relevant match number, several teams are failing to put them on the scoresheet, together with essential information such as the date and who is playing. This makes my job most time consuming when it doesn’t need to be. Also the League
have introduced a new assessment form this season to enable trophies to be awarded fairly at the end of the season. Despite sending this to all teams on several occasions the old forms are still being returned.
    This practice will cease immediately.

The assessment form will be attached to the minutes again but if they are not completed correctly and if the match number is not on the scoresheet fines will be issued to offending teams from 1.1.09, as per rule 6p.
You have been warned!

10.
Any Other Business

10.1 Lee Clarke has transferred from Hawks to Warley.

10.2 There is a discrepancy in the Insurance cover provided by English Basketball which only gives effective cover for 11 months. In theory this means that players are not covered to practice in September. Keith will make enquiries with English Basketball as this could have long reaching effects to preseason training.

10.3 Last month the Secretary sent out a questionnaire to clubs. Just over half have been returned and it will be circulated again to teams who have not sent this in. Andy and Tony will be compiling a report from the results given, and this will be presented at the next Committee meeting.

However, a number of teams have questioned the amount of fines issued in their reply. In answer to this only a small proportion of clubs are ever issued with fines, and in effect no one should ever be issued with a fine if they follow the rules laid down by the League and approved by clubs at the
AGM, answer correspondence and read the minutes. It is interesting to note that new teams who have obviously read the rules rarely are issued with administrative fines; perhaps there is a lesson to be learnt there!

11.
Date of next Meeting.

The next Committee meeting will take place on Tuesday 6th January 2009 in room 45 at Leasowes Sports Centre, Kent Road, Halesowen at 6.30pm prompt
