1. Matters Arising.

2.1 Table Officials’ course. Jeff Booton will be running another table officials’ course which Tony Johnson will organise starting Wednesday 16th and Thursday 17th January 2008, 7-9pm with the exam on Monday 28th January 2008. Places are limited to 15. Preference will be given to clubs with no qualified table officials and it is on the basis of first come, first served. Some very poor scoresheets have been submitted so please encourage your club to send people if they are not qualified.

3.2 Alan Bean still owes Wolves CC ₤100 and remains suspended from participation in the West Midlands League until that debt is cleared.

3. Secretary’s Report (Andy Millington)

3.1 An e-mail was received from Old Eds. complaining about the

conduct of a Pro Guard player, reports are to be requested from all

concerned in time for the next meeting.

3.2 James Tickle has requested a transfer from Kidderminster to Old

sills, once all the formalities have been covered this is approved.

3.3 Andy commented on the poor standard of some of the scoresheets

received and passed one around for the committee to see which did

not even include the player’s names! Would all team secretaries please

ensure that scoresheets are completed with all boxes filled in as this is

most important when trying to complete the tables etc. The Committee

are running courses; please try to attend if you are one of the teams

having trouble with your table!!

4. Referees Report (Keith Kershaw)

4.1 Licences. All our officials now have a current licence. If you are invited to officiate at any level of the National League – especially age group fixtures please ensure your co-official has a licence. If he/she does not then your own insurance will be invalid if an incident occurs. You should refuse to officiate with them.

4.2 Injured players. If a player leaves the game with a serious looking injury, then you are strongly recommended to keep a record of the details, i.e. players name, type of injury, time in the game, and if the player intends to go to hospital. This is particularly important in games played in schools sports halls. Leisure Centres should have their own reporting system. This has been brought to my attention following an incident in a West Midlands game back in March 2007, and a subsequent insurance claim.

4.3 Appointments for November are with officials and on the website.

4.4 Draft December appointments should be with officials by November 12th.

4.5 Nominated team referee. The following teams have failed to nominate an official in accordance with Rule 5 cii. Aston A’s, Aston University, David Lloyds, Smith’s Wood, WM Police. See Treasurers report.
